Synergy is Fay Godwin's first exhibition of her new digital work. She started to explore this media just prior to her recent retrospective at the Barbican, and found the portability and flexibilty of this new technology were now compatible with her creative needs and lifestyle.

Following her exhibition in the year 2000 at the Penny School Gallery, one of it's sponsors, Nikon UK were happy to support Fay in her early exploration of this new media, lending her digital equipment and their technical expertise.

The new images are delicate and lyrical compositions, sensitive to colour and light, revealing secret worlds, close up, in the flotsam and jetsam of the shore and the land. These are intimate worlds which are open to interpretation where scale is immaterial or imagined promising meanings that are suspended in their ambiguity.

Accompanying the exhibition, there will be portfolios of Fay Godwin's earlier photographs in both black and white and colour, plus a selection of her books and postcards.
